Oh, I remember that feeling! I’ve had so many jobs where being fired felt like being put out of my misery… check out some of my stories here: http://unemployedmba.tumblr.com.
Wow. This is a real eye opener! People are still having trouble finding jobs and small businesses are still struggling in this economy. There’s a great site out there helping people find jobs. It’s called Turn US Around. Not only are they helping people they also help small businesses find grants and students find scholarships. I’d definitely suggest checking it out. http://www.TurnUSAround.com
I was unemployed for over a year until I finally found a job. The employer had me skeptical (yet I took the job out of desparation). I found out this person was a sociopath, had NO integrity, scammed people into investing hundred’s of thousands of dollars into his company and not delivering. I have NEVER in my life wanted to be fired from a job until working for this bozo. I did search for a new job once I found out what was going on but was fired before then. Back on unemployment I go. It takes a strong person to keep their chin up after rejections and finding out job leads are overseas scams. But it takes a special person to make it through rejection, scam after scam, and employed/getting fired by a “crook” (in less explicit words). I often doubt I’m that person.
I remember saying this exact same thing. Til I started submitting my resumes around for 6 months and no responses yet.Thank God I haven’t done anything……
I use to work for a major hotel chain, owned by people who asked more from me than what I was hired for. seriously wanting me to sew their clothing, walk an d clean up after their dogs they would leave in the office and then ask favors of working overtime, yet never getting paid for it. I was called in on days off, worked double shifts, until I couldn’t take the insanity anymore and quit. I hate not working but I know if I stayed there, I would have gone off on some helpless guest or lost my mind completely. Now finding a job at my age is harder. I am nearly 50 and haven’t got any respnse from the applications I have out there. Thousands are applying for the same job or they hire dpeople they know. I live in a small town, and there isn’t much jobwise here. thank god my husband is working and receives a retirement check from the military or we would be screwed over. But I won’t let it get to me. People are worse off and struggling more so than us but still, I feel guilty my hubby has to pull the weight of it.

I remember saying that. “PLEASE FIRE ME” I hate my boss.
I always did a good job at getting fired when needed. But then I had another better option (not moneywise but mental healthwise).
