Sparrow Songs Project: a short, intimate documentary about unemployment

I was contacted recently by one of the creators of the following documentary about unemployment.  I really think it’s worth your time.  An excellent little mediation on the ‘condition’ of being unemployed.  The film is part of a 12 month project called Sparrow Songs, where the two filmmakers will create and release a new documentary on vimeo for twelve months.  This is chapter two.  Enjoy!

    I don’t see what’s amusing about this..

I’m glad these folks made this video.. and I’m thankful for the videos/audio you made, John. I don’t want all our stories to disappear.. Remember in this video, one of the guys says he frequently felt like he was the only one experiencing this..

While we may not be able to immediately change the state of the economy and get people working, we can tell our stories and make people feel, at the least, that they’re not alone, and that it’s not their fault.

I love this blog! I am a recent undergraduate and I cant find work for the life of me. I have a blog about being unemployed for school because obviously I went back to school after I got my degree to increase my debt and become more qualified for a job that I don’t think I will ever get. Please check out my blog and let me know what you think because I love your blog and your impute would be great

    Thanks!
