Hi All,
On a horrible period like this the endless tries and effort for a job sometimes become life thretning. But lets be awaked and open our eyes little more beyond the US borders, there is a much beger human inhabited world beyond the US fence!
I got to hear a wonderful storey happened to a friend of mine recently., He got layed off an year and half ago and his wife also got layed off. Both did have better paid jobs and had 3 kids to feed and educate. They did a smart move and it brought fortune for them.
I will bring point by point of their masterplan to survive.

1. Searched economic opportunity around the world as they were sure that US economy will takle another atleast10 years to comeback to where it was which you cannot afford with your short life span. There are many countries where the economy is booming right now, we dont consider this and we stick into odd plan with drying out unemployment until a child die with hunger. Consider the people come here from other countries for work and being winners in the strange land and language. so why cant americans do the same?
2. Their chois was 'Sri Lanka' for several reasons
    a. After 30 years of war everything is booming
    b. Stable political erena and 8.0% growing economy with best asian share market
    c. Most potential location next to bussiest sea rout which it will become next singapor
    d. Very low living cost
    e. less than 4% unemployment and they are predicting a manpower shortage in future
    f. Best tourist destination prescribed by national geogrophy and Times mag.
   g. Free education for your kids , free universities as well, british exams followed
   h. Free health care for all, private hospitals for low paid but best facilities.
   i. Everywhere you go exotic food and places, beaches.
  j. 2600 years old living history and culture, runied kingdoms
  k. Tropical rain forests with lepords, Asian elephants, deers, bears
  l. Lush green tea plantaions on mountains after just 3 hour drive to inland from any beach
the size is 1/3 rd of california, little bigger than west Verginia
  m. House rents are low, 4 bed house in the capital city Colombo with a 1/4 Acre land- $500
or you can buy as my friends did, same house for $ 100,000

Well they dont have football or baseball, but famous for Cricket ! having won the 2006 world cup and runners up in 2007 and 11 - cricket crazy nation
my friends doughter got her masters in Electronic Engineering just for $ 1000 in their best University recognized by many europian countries..
So why dont you guys try out a chance than dying here on streets for food..!

What are we supposed to do? This is the US and it is going down the toilet? I am not ok with this at all. UGH. I recently lost my job and will get unemployment, but what happens after the fact? There are no jobs out there and my mortgage is way higher then what I will be getting on unemployment. Yikes. I am scared of what is to come. What do people do? What are people going to do? You know what I mean? I am so scared....................I don't want to end up homeless or in any bad circumstances. I'm confused as to what to do. I can't even give any good advice since so many people are in the same boat. Please any advice would be welcome. I'm open to suggestions. I think it is good people can post on sites like this

My unemployment ran out on 11/6 at the 99 week mark. I am over 40, so apparently I have a better chance of being hit by a bus than getting hired again. I could not even get a holiday job!

My guess is that if a Tier V is not passed, millions of people will simply STOP PAYING THE BILLS. We will go bankrupt. This in turn will hurt the financial institutions who caused this whole 'friggin mess.

I figure I can survive about another two months (due to some money my mom gave me). I do not qualify for any welfare, food stamps, or LiHeap, because of the unemployment money (go figure!) so once that money is gone, so will everything else and I will be on the street.

DEAR SANTA,

All I want for Christmas is a JOB! Both my husband and I are out of work over one year after being layed off from the same company. My benefits for unemployment end next week with no more extensions. My husband will try to keep paying the mortgage and other expenses and I will begin attacking my savings to keep us afloat. This past year we lost our jobs and I lost both my mother and father to the horrible illness of cancer and my husband's father died suddenly at a young age as well. I foresee losing our home if we do not find work and cannot keep things afloat. I myself have always worked hard running my own business for 17 years after closing it, 3 years ago. Nobody is responding to online applications or dropped off resumes. This year, it's beginning to look a lot like...
losing hope.

People are already stressed and running out of money and options. When Unemployment runs out, there could be runs on the banks, just like in the Major Depression of 1929.

By runs on banks, maybe people will have to resort to extreme measures to make a living.

I am by no means advocating criminal activity, but for some people they are at the end of their rope when it comes to getting a job and keeping it.

1 in 10 Americans are Unemployed, not counting those who are part-time or less Employed, 25 MILLION Americans are FIGHTING for their SURVIVAL.

What is a shame is that No one in our Government seems too concerned about solving this problem and putting an end to it.

True our Nation is in Debt, but if we can't get out of debt then everyone is on a Sinking Titanic headed for Disaster.

Just so you know, I have written the White House, written our Rep. , Congress, the Senate. Everything I can think of to get the unemployment extended again. I my friends are among the 99ners club. A club I did not want to be in. My husband lost his job and my unemployment ran out over four months ago. With no money coming in we have had to pawn a great deal just to make through another month. I ran out of things to pawn so I had to get assistance to pay my power bill. I have an eight year old son and a seven month old daughter. I had a nice job with a nice company that downsized. Now, even McDonald's tell me that for every one opening they have 200 applicants. *chuckles* MCDONALDS!!! I am in Georgia. We are hurting over here. I am thinking if I can not make through which I won't without a miracle for next month I will have no choice but to uproot my son from school in the middle of the school year and move in with my mother in law *stiffles a cry*. She lives several counties away. My stomach hurts at night and I look like I have aged ten years due to stress (it causes grey hair, it's not a myth people). Jobs in her county are almost non exsistant. So, I am almost homeless, no where to go or to turn, uprooting my family will be harsh. So, if you are out of work and desperate, don't think of flipping burgers as a quick fix. It is now just as hard to get one of those as any other job now. Believe me, even flipping burgers would help pay the bills or put diapers on my daughter. When fast food turns you down because they have no jobs what do you do then? I suppose I will have to start making and selling sex tapes.... hey wait! I had to pawn my video camera! Now I am really down and out.

We have been through lost jobs, finding jobs and currently my husband is employed but, you never know when the unemployment demons will come back. We have sold things, had our house foreclosed on, filed bankruptcy and we are still here. We joke about ending up in my sister's basement but, everyone knows it's not a real joke but, something that could happen.

I have squirreled away a couple fo thousand dollars over the past 2 years from consignment shop sales, scrimping on food money, any money I get for birthday and saving coins. If all else fails we will have enough to buy a used travel trailer and live in it. Don't ask me where and how but, it's my plan. I must say that my husband would never want to do this and would never consider it but, he never thought we would lose our house, have to file bankruptcy or be faced with many of the situations we have had to face.

I have not been able to find a steady job. I did have some part time work in temporary situations that I found but, I was self employed and do not qualify for unemployment. We consider ourselves lucky that we have benefots through my husband's job and can save some money every month and we will never look at our future the same way we looked at it a couple of years ago.

My job was eliminated when my company downsized. I was managing three companies in one office, doing the work of six people and thought I had a job until I retired even though it was killing me. When they let me go I didn't know whether to be relieved or devastated. The workforce center said I was completely burnt out and would I like to try being a cook or something else? I thought they were nuts for even suggesting such a thing. How can you pay for your rent/mortgage, utilities, insurance and groceries on less then half of what you were making? You can't thus the bankruptcy and foreclosure. But while that was going on I found out that my identity had been tied up neatly with my credit rating. I was super woman supporting several under my roof, managing three companies, paying my bills on time. Then whoosh! It's all gone. I've applied for a hundred jobs since then and gotten nothing. No one will hire me because I was middle management or they think I'm over qualified or want too much money. Telling them that you are happy to take a lesser wage and do the lesser job doesn't help. "Dumbing" down my resume hasn't helped. And that's another thing I worked hard to get that resume to the status it is, why the hell do I have to "dumb" it down? I know. I know. You gotta do what you gotta do. But that hasn't worked either. So maybe it's my age or something else I'm not taking into consideration. I don't know. Anyway I finally got hard up enough to try being a cook. At first they were impressed with me and then I was let go with them saying I wasn't fast enough. Okay fine I tried right? what do I get for trying? My unemployment is now on hold while they investigate why the job let me go. Rent is due and I don't have enough money to do more then pay half. I'm sure it will all be fine. This time. But what about next time? And what about when the unemployment is gone? Then what? I've applied for every job that has come up, I've followed up, I've applied for online work. It's never ending and the shot to my self esteem and confidence has taken such a hit that I don't know if I can do my job once I get it. I didn't know I couldn't do a cook job and it seemed much easier then what I've been doing for so many years. I can do accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, taxes, type, sales, phones, filing, inventory, shipping; but no one will hire me!

My question is what do you do and where do you go when there's no job and you can't afford a roof over your head? Do I put all my belongings in a storage unit and find a shelter? Do I lose everything I own as well as my credit, my reputation, my skills. Am I destined for the streets? Something has got to happen to put us all back to work or people will be jumping out of windows because they can't face what so many of us are already facing.

Well that was more of a rant then anything else I guess. Sorry I don't have some answers instead of just more problems. I wish I had a Plan B. Right now my plan is just to keep trying to get a job before I am homeless.

Wish me luck!

It’s never ending and the shot to my self esteem and confidence has taken such a hit that I don’t know if I can do my job once I get it. I didn’t know I couldn’t do a cook job and it seemed much easier then what I’ve been doing for so many years. I can do accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, taxes, type, sales, phones, filing, inventory, shipping; but no one will hire me!

My question is what do you do and where do you go when there’s no job and you can’t afford a roof over your head? Do I put all my belongings in a storage unit and find a shelter? Do I lose everything I own as well as my credit, my reputation, my skills. Am I destined for the streets? Something has got to happen to put us all back to work or people will be jumping out of windows because they can’t face what so many of us are already facing.

Well that was more of a rant then anything else I guess. Sorry I don’t have some answers instead of just more problems. I wish I had a Plan B. Right now my plan is just to keep trying to get a job before I am homeless.

Wish me luck!

I tell you what I'm going to do. I'm going to find a couple of CEOs at Goldman Sachs or AIG, camp out in their front f*&%ing yard, take a dump on their lawn every morning until i get arrested. Every time they let me out of jail I'm going back to take a dump on their lawn. They'll know my name and what I had for dinner every god damn day until I get a job. Yes, mother effer, I had corn for dinner!

I'm going straight up punk-rock when my unemployment runs out.
