Another recession proof get-rich-quick scam: ATM card skimmers

2009 April 17

Here at the unemploymentality we’ve already introduced you to several get rich quick schemes such as becoming a pirate to starting your own pyramid scheme.  But these are just child’s play compared to card skimming.  That’s right, card skimming has been around for several years now, but apparently I’ve been living under a rock and just heard about today.  So in case you’ve also been out of the loop, here’s the low down:

Basically anyone can buy card-swiping devices from ‘the internet’ and use it to steal your credit card information with ease.  Some are pocket-sized ‘skimmers’ that a waiter can easily keep in his or her pocket to make their own transaction before ringing you up for your meal.  More industrious cons mount skimmers over the slot where you insert your card into an ATM machine – that way, as your card enters the machine, the con’s skimmer reads your card.  Here’s a skimmer that was recently confiscated from a Washington Mutual ATM machine:

As America’s finanicial industry crumbles, and crooked bankers and morgtage lenders begin exciting new careers in the service industry I imagine a few might be tempted to try and regain their ‘baller’ status by acquiring a little extra capital from Joe Public.  So watch out ladies and gentlemen of th unemploymentality.  I would hate to see you lose your hard-earned unemployment check to this skimmer hustle.

I’ve heard of skimming but I really don’t know what we as consumers can do to prevent this. I mean besides looking real hard at the ATM but it seems like they can get you anywhere. Like you said at a restaurant…How do you know the waiter is going to skim your card? And can you get any fraudulent charges off your card once you have been skimmed?

I once waited for a bank machine while the woman in front of me went through a whole stack of bank cards looking for one that worked. Amazed, I watched her for 5 minutes. She must’ve tried 15-20 different cards. She eventually let me use the machine, but I declined. I was just too weirded out, and scared she might have some way to capture my info.

Well, on the bright side, you’ll no longer have to worry about collecting unemployment or looking for work when you get caught! :)

We now have skimmers with GSM-connection and PINpad for sale. That means you don’t have to remove the skimmer anymore from the ATM after operation. You also don’t need a camera anymore.

You attach the skimmer and the PINpad to the ATM and you just sit at home and receive the information trough SMS-messages.

After you’ve received the information you print them on blanc plastic cards with the MRS-206, which we also sell.

The batteries on the skimmer and PINpad work for approximately four (!) days.

Prices for a skimmer are $1500 up.

    The MRS-206 costs $400

    Combination Skimmer + MRS206= $1750

Contact us for more information and prices.

we worked at this manual labor farm to work b/c we wanted to get any work as required, at this place, they terry nickell-dimed us. Got written up for showing up 5-10 min late due to inclement weather-snowstorms, etc.., made us work through unpaid lunch hours, no benies whatsoever, no health, retirement, etc…
worked an extra 1 hr and the hill billy bossman quibbled over 7 extra dollars, no dinero for OT–squeeze lemon dry of your working stiffs, and they thrown then out after use/abuse them–we have no rights, protections b/c we live in america–whereby the govt. has heavily sided with companies over people. that is why this country is a joke. things will not change,—just look at the sheeple b/w 6-9AM on the road to nowhere–hamster wheels, bellies, grey hair, cheap “5-10 day “vacations” and decimated 401ks–enjoy.
