Brother, can you spare a job?

As most of you are returning to work after chestnut roasting and regal holidays, a few of us are still at home eating stale christmas cookies.  It’s cool.  I’ll just keep pretending I’m on an extra special christmas break.  

Here’s an interesting video that explores the effects of the Bush economy through ‘depression-style’ animation.  Brother Can you Spare a Job? was originally a finalist in a “Bush in 30 seconds” competition held by MoveOn.org.  Although the 30-second spot did not win the competition, it inspired creators Greg Saunders and Tom Neely to create a 7 minute version that continues Melvin McBeam and family’s journey to make ends in a downtrodden job market.  Our kind of film.  Enjoy.
